Big bust at the Grape 'Street dog park
I'm one of five Dog Owners of Grape Street Park (D.O.G.S) "User Group" volunteer members that has stepped up to serve the park. Each dog park is charged with having a user group, we are the only organized group. We've made some incredible inroads in getting connected to the City and its maintenance division which serves the Grape Street park. There are many issues, old pipes, inadequate sprinklers, refilling dog bags schedules, posting signage, enforcing existing rules and keeping a friendly relationship with the neighbors along the park's edge. The safety, cleanliness and maintenance of the park is our first priority. We help collect money for reseeding the grass and, in the past, were responsible for providing dog bags during the weekend. We have started a website, have a dedicated email, opened a transparent bank account, had a successful "hole patch" event, and you can read more at http://dogownersofgrapest.wix.com/dogs We welcome input and are trying to do our best to both keep the park safe and clean. And we are wanting good relationships with the community and neighborhood. The more discussion, the better the solutions that will be put forth. Volunteers are welcomed to attend our meetings. Meetings are posted on the website and sent out to those who want email notification. Get involved and be part of the solution.
