A raccoon family comes to live with an Ocean Beach family

It's a great time to be in property management. The property owners are so ashamed by the obscene rents they are charging, they are more than happy to pay someone handsomely, as well as provide a rent free apartment, to deal with the tenants. All you have to do is keep the owners expenses down as low as possible, which usually entails a fair amount of bullshit and duct tape. Rents are high and rising because of the record number of foreclosures that put former home owners into apartments. The former home owners are still "stupified" by the ridiculous mortgage payments the banks suckered them into, so they think the inflated rents are a bargain and gladly pay them. So the whole play is in property managers favor. The latest and best scam addresses the landlord's #1 problem: rising water costs. The property managers contract with one of several phony "water utility companies" who claim they have a fair and equitable method to calculate the cost of each tenant's water usage without installing any new meters, and then the tenants get a notice of the change in the lease and the new water charge. The "utility company" bills the tenants for a water charge that has no basis in reality; the tenants pay for the water and then some; the utility company pockets a fee; the property manager gets a nice commission, and the landlord no longer has to pay anything for water. Like I said, it's a great time to be in property management.

Don't Embarrass the Hells Angels

Whoa boys! Let's not have any blog blood spilled here. We're just talking, right? 65 is not too old to be hitting on chicks--especially if you are a young 65. Also, who's to say the guy that brought his "good looking" wife into the bar wasn't a biker himself? A man has to take the old lady someplace once in awhile! These things happen. A 65 year old guy is feeling frisky-- probably more whiskeeterone than anything-- and a good looking woman is reminded that she is good looking (they usually like that); and her old man is not amused and somebody gets their ass kicked. It's just another day in a bar.

Irwin Jacobs Praises Consultant For Their Work On Plaza de Panama Project

I cannot believe the City Council approved this dim-witted, short-sighted, moronic idea. It just goes to show, just because the majority of professional organizations and knowledgeable individuals are against something, doesn't mean you cannot still buy your way to a favorable decision. It has to be the money. Why else would anyone go along with this half-baked, misguided nonsense? Historical accuracy? They'd have to change a helluva lot more than the pedestrian walkways to bring Balboa Park back to what it was in 1915 or 1935. That is certainly not it. I still have yet to read anything that provides a clue as to what Jacob's interest is here. Where is Jacob's dog in this fight? Dorian? Don Bauder? Anyone?
