Ken Cinema not 100 after all

Don't feel bad, Scott. This is San Diego; nobody knows what's what, what's where, or when it all began. Living here is to be aboard the Magical Mystery Tour. Who cares how old The Ken is? It has what counts in an old movie house: it's shabby, smelly, dark and dank, and your shoes stick to the floor. What more can one ask of an old movie theater? Get yourself some popcorn, kick back and enjoy the show!

Well, seriously! Would you say figure skating is more dangerous than MMA?

San Diegans love mixed martial arts – the promoter, the gym, the pros

Oh yea---mixed martial arts is nowhere near as dangerous than figure skating. I mean, when I think about all those figure skaters I've seen with cauliflower ear...and which would you rather have happen to you--take a fall while cheer leading or take a full-on knee to the face? Let's face it, cheer leaders have it a lot rougher compared to these guys that get knocked unconscious by a round house kick to the head. And there's no doubt in my mind the game of golf is way more dangerous! I mean, think about all those times you've seen Tiger Woods get carried off the green from....from....golf balls that bounce off the trees and hit him in the head! You're much more safer in the cage with some guy pounding you in the face with his elbow, or repeatedly ramming his knee into your stomach. With golf, figure skating, and certainly cheer leading--you can get really hurt. Thank goodness we have safe, gentle sports like mixed martial arts. I think every neighborhood should have an MMA arena. I say we start with Mission Hills!

Wind Power for Cars; the Disempowerment of Drivers with Blinding Lights

Say what? Flash your high beams and a gang member will shoot you? I definitely did not get that memo. Now, I think it is perfectly acceptable to flash your lights to warn oncoming traffic about a speed trap they are headed for. That's just being a solid citizen and fellow traveler. It accomplishes what the cops want to accomplish but nobody gets a ticket. Right on, ride on!

Four-year-old cop shooting case delayed again

I don't recall this case but based on the info in this article, I don't understand who the perp is supposed to have murdered. Don't tell me it's the woman the cops shot. Does anyone know if he or the passenger was armed when he was apprehended? They are saying in an earlier account, the guy supposedly rammed the police cars with his car, but maybe the current account may be different. I'm just wondering if this is going to be like that case where the off-duty cop shot that woman who was driving with her kid--a case of road rage cop version--and they then charged the woman with assault on a police officer and the cop got off scot free. Now that, was a miscarriage of justice. A very common occurrence in these parts.

Natural products trade group announces opposition to Prop 37

*And the truth shall be revealed*...The "natural food" vendors are worried sick that the requirements of this proposition will force them to reveal the truth--their products are far from natural. People need to wake up in terms of what is really "natural" and what "organic" really means. Food vendors have been taking advantage of the vagaries in the terminology and the loopholes in the law and capitalizing on the public's ignorance of the facts. It will be very interesting to see what happens if this prop passes.

Also, Donna understood the unions represented the best opportunity for raising the local populations standard of living, and in doing so, improving the city's economy overall. I only said I wish the unions had control of City Hall because I think some balance needs to be restored. I know the unions would run amok, but at least the running would be in the other direction for a change.
