Harsh Words for RV Driver at Liberty Station

What is Starbucks problem? If parking is legal alongside that curb, then the RV owner should have told them to go suck on a cappuccino. I don't know why the RV didn't park across the way in the back end of the big parking lot, but hey, if street parking is legal they have every right. People need to realize San Diego is a destination city for a lot of vacationers and travelers, and RV's are a legitimate part of that population. The few that "reside" here should not cause people to make all RV owners feel unwelcome--especially those that are obviously just stopping for some coffee and wifi.

Oceanside Code Enforcement Fines Homeowner

This is bizarre. They should at least give the guy a chance to take stock of what's what and see what really needs to be done. Fixing damaged walls and painting should not require a permit, and what's with this rabid code officer taking pictures of this guy doing minor work. I don't get it. I mean, if it's going to be major reconstruction or some such, I can understand the permit requirement, but just to do some basic repairs, this is just ridiculous.

Deportation, then probation

So, are they making it up as they go along, or are they stretching the net and creating a burden on Mexico? We clearly have reciprocal agreements with Mexico, so it would not surprise me to see the Mexican authorities going along with this...in spirit at least.

Filner wants funds

And this time Mexico is not to blame. Someone should have seen this coming and acted a lot sooner. Whoever is the District Representative here should have got this ball rolling as soon as they saw the Mexicans breaking ground for the new crossing. Someone was clearly asleep at the wheel. Inexcusable.

$400,000 woman

This is disgraceful. These people ought to hang their heads in shame. Patients struggle to pay their medical bills and students put themselves in hock for life while these bloodsucking leeches get outrageous salaries and then "additional salaries" as "supplemental" benefits for the senior management? Oh yes, they really need to have their salaries supplemented, the poor things. Arianna Huffington captured it quite well with her 2003 book,"Pigs at the Trough." Indeed. No one in education or healthcare ought to be making $400,000. At least not if they have an ounce of integrity.

Deportation, then probation

I don't get this. These guys are all to be deported when they get out, yet some will have "supervised release." How's that work? Will the Mexican authorities supervise them? The article also states several of these guys have extensive criminal records. If the Mexican authorities are going to "supervise" them, why not have them do their time in a Mexican prison?
