City attorney Goldsmith boasted how he worked on Filner ouster for 8 months
Nice article Don; I certainly believe that Goldsmith and others were plotting to remove Filner (as are virtually all politically opposed politicians). Filner is still completely to blame for what happened.— October 18, 2013 9:23 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
"Genuinely contrite" LOL. That is one of the more ridiculous things you've written. Go back and re-read Filner's resignation speech and how he talked about a "lynch mob" and only apologized for "offending" women - not harassing them.— October 18, 2013 9:20 a.m.
Cancer research gets little from NFL's "pink" affiliation
I think the practice of donating a very small percentage of sales to charity and then making a big ad campaign around that isn't limited to the NFL. My understanding is most of the goods one might buy in the grocery store with pink breast cancer awareness boldly displayed only give a small percentage to the breast cancer funds. But nobody is as over the top about promoting their small donations as the NFL is.— October 18, 2013 6:36 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
If what you are saying is true then perhaps Filner had a very poor defense attorney. Or was the defense attorney also in on this conspiracy to oust Bob Filner - it seems to include almost everyone in San Diego.— October 17, 2013 2:49 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Then again, having almost 2 dozen claimed harassment victims come forward publicly in a case like this just never happens either.— October 17, 2013 3:19 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Any correlation between name and performance? **D**eMaio **F**ilner, **F**elony, **F**aulconer, **F**letcher. I give recent mayoral candidates D's and F grades. Here's hoping the next mayor gets an "A" grade (for **A**guirre)— October 16, 2013 4:43 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
If information comes out that gov't agencies colluded in an unethical and/or illegal way that should certainly be investigated fully. Personally, I don't see how that would clear Filner's name at this point.— October 16, 2013 4:37 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
I would say it's a proven fact now that Filner is disgusting - I don't think it's name calling. So you are saying committing a felony against women is not disgusting? If so then I guess I am a name-caller. Could you please elaborate on why it's not disgusting for a high level public official to commit a felony against a woman?— October 16, 2013 7 a.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Filner has been convicted in court of law of a felony. If you consider repeating that fact to be name-calling so be it. In my opinion, the argument is over unless some new information is discovered.— October 15, 2013 8:55 p.m.
Filner pleads guilty to one felony, two misdemeanor counts
Well OK now Filner has been proven guilty in a court of law but I guess that's still not enough. I'm inspired by a recent car commercial extoling the virtues of "AND" instead of "OR". The truth is: 1. Filner had a lot of powerful enemies who wanted him out of office. AND 2. Filner is a disgusting man who has criminally harassed women. AND. AND. AND. Not OR.— October 15, 2013 4:38 p.m.
