Why Was Toni Atkins Consulting for Developers Vying for Redevelopment Dollars After She Was Elected to State Assembly?
Aguirre would be a welcome change, if only to hold every Councilmember's feet to the fire, that would put SD back on track as America's Finest City!! ♨— February 15, 2011 7:17 a.m.
Why Was Toni Atkins Consulting for Developers Vying for Redevelopment Dollars After She Was Elected to State Assembly?
I wish you and others would attend the ReDev. meetings in North Park (if they continue to have them...) because a few of the Board members think like you do but most of the "elected" members are so happy to make the Council office look good that it is sickening, remember these things are voted on and we do live in a democracy, so with more voter involvement, we would not be in the situation we are now in, where our Leaders are looking out more for themselves than they are for US! Playing Both Sides against the other is what politicians do! Atkins and Kehoe are good at that, supporting each other and watching each others back, now that both of them are on the same Pension Payout "train"! Sadly this is a tiny scam compared to the Pension debacle where Big Unions donations and support insure a Council Member's "win" then the same Council Member then supports big pay increases for all their Union Friends... How many non-City retirees do you know that are making over $7,000 a month and MORE? Welcome to San Diego Politics! Here is a sample from last fall: http://www.sandiegoreader.com/weblogs/financial-c… Unless many more folks get involved and start attending meeting they will continue to be led around by those that do! BTW: Nice Blog Win...Keep up the good work!— February 13, 2011 8:28 a.m.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Gave Pols $63,000
Until America requires a "Clean Election" rules, we will continue to be even more at the mercy of the Big Deep Pockets than control our lives and our very freedom! The SCOTUS has now made it legal for Giant Corp.'s to take over our Countries elections thanks to their recent rulings governing campaign donations; Elected leaders will leave office much richer than they were while in Office thanks to these dubious new rules!— February 12, 2011 1:35 p.m.
Bishops Building Up? La Jolla Conversation Is Not Done
This case represents both the confusion and frustration that SD Community Residents feel when their local Planning Boards decisions are ignored by City Staff! The missing members of the Planning Commission (that did not vote) are a loop hole that allows projects like this to be decided by City Staff in a politically correct manner, instead of by our appointed Planning Commissioners!... The SD Planning oversight process is flawed and needs to be fixed before other decisions are "left" up to City Staff, instead of the Planning Commission; otherwise why have a Planning Commission!— February 12, 2011 12:38 p.m.
Storefront Windows Defaced with Scratches
Forget polishing and install vandal-proof plastic film instead! It is crystal clear and will, when defaced (even with acid and diamonds) it peals off and the glass looks like brand new! North Park has used this on its glass windows and it is GREAT!— February 12, 2011 12:29 p.m.
Southwestern College Vice President Nicholas Alioto Resigns
The RATS are fleeing the sinking ship so they will not go down with it! All these "sacrifices" by those that have steered $WC toward the Iceberg of disaster will do nothing to distance themselves from what is coming... These folks care about only about themselves and are looking to escape the HUGE outcry once the voters wake up to what is actually happening at SWC because of them... I'd like to see some legal action taken to hold those responsible for what is coming accountable for their failed fiduciary responsible! Tar & Feathers would be a waste on him!— February 10, 2011 7:17 p.m.
