Chula Vista Redevelopment Corporation Dismantled
Good news all in all! Until redevelopment is "run" by publicly elected folks elected by tiny districts, there never will be equal benefit, as Political "paybacks" always trump most neighborhood projects for funding... Great Article!— December 11, 2011 9:53 a.m.

Golden Hill Residents Aren't MAD Anymore
Lucky Golden Hill Residents! 1. I've seen first hand how MAD's can be overtaken and shifted into "PRO" business entities that fails their original mission of doing "good" for all the area residents, not just the business district... 2. Another factor to consider is that what these MAD's can do is written down in their "Engineers Report, a document which can have many interpretations by those in City Hall and or in the Council Office! 3. The makeup of the MAD Board is yet another KEY issue and it is often composed of folks friendly to the Council Office which again leads to inequitable treatment of the entire area! Ideally, the Board would be composed of representatives of each sub area which would insure that each area get equal treatment... BTW: North Park just voted to not approve an overlay MAD to increase "benefits" in a segment of the existing MAD, near 30th and University Ave.— December 3, 2011 12:04 p.m.
Good Old Boys’ Club Exposed at Sweetwater Union High School District Meeting?
Suggestions: 1. Follow the Money! 2. Demand public funded reports 3. Demand Brown Act violations to be investigated! 4. Demand copies of Form 700 for every candidate ... be filled out before the election, to provide "openness".— December 3, 2011 11:51 a.m.

Wang's North Park Restaurant Plans “Soft” Opening
Last night, many of North Park locals, happily not just the politically well connected, were invited to an Invitation-Only dinner, which was used as a training for Wang's staff. For all those lucky enough to attended, it provided a glimpse of the incredible level of service that Wang's will provide it's patrons! As mentioned in the comment above, it was wonderful to see so many local residents of North Park working at Wang's. Kudos to the Owners of Wang's for their practice of hiring locally first, something which has already made them a "Neighborhood Friendly" business. Because many of their staff will be able to walk and or cycle to work, it will protect local parking in the nearby residential neighborhood while reducing congestion on our local streets. The owners of Wang's have also committed to providing parking for their employees living outside NP, in the nearby North Park Parking Garage, which is something too few other NP Business owners do. I predict that Wang's North Park will not only set a new standard for fine dining in the Mid-City but they will also put North Park on the map, as THE new restaurant destination in San Diego County! I was told Wang's official Grand Opening is scheduled for January 2012, and if the training was any indication, their Grand Opening will be a must attend event! I suggest that you experience Wang's for yourself, it will be a wonderful adventure!— November 19, 2011 11:29 a.m.
