Justice in the tuna industry
Those who hold high orfice bend low. And we called heim "Mr." A(llassio). Especially a waitress who worked there who, when, back in the sixties or seventies, served (but, I take it, not serviced) a couple of his pals from Chicago. The check came to $900 (say, 1970 money); $300 for the meals and $600 for the wine. They tipped her with a $100 bill. She looked at the tip, wadded it up and threw it back onto the table, saying "Here, you cheap sonsabitches--you must need it more than I do!" I don't know what happened to her.— December 14, 2015 12:32 p.m.
Nuvasive's eastward expansion

Edison's cost of corruption: $16.7 million
We are all serfs. Only the fact that we are kept mesmerized with bread and circuses and enough of us granted a modicum of comfort keeps us from acting as a citizenry to clip these bustards' wings instead of sleeping until only a revolution will solve the problem at great cost to everybody (blood, guts, money and unfathomable misery). And we will lose. It must be difficult, Don, to be a dedicated defender of the dikes, and exposer of the Emperors' new clothes, to keep it up in the face of such apathy.— December 14, 2015 12:21 p.m.
Justice in the tuna industry
We used to call him C. A$$hole Smith.— December 13, 2015 11:48 p.m.
Murdoch says L.A. Times to be sold
The world is run by mushy minds that lay on the lash in response to any attempt a rational discourse. Come to think of it, it isn't very popular among "solid" minds either.— December 13, 2015 11:35 p.m.
