To Stella from Mica: Tales of Beyond the Front Door
You may have heard about this on the news: The government is looking into reports of pets being poisoned by flea drops. What it sounds like is that cats are especially susceptible. I think what's happening is that cats are being given too many drops for their size. You can buy flea "drops" at the store, or you can buy the professional vet brand drops on the Internet. Kathy, my FCC friend, buys pro drops for dogs, as it is cheaper, then gives her cats less drops. I am sure that's what a lot of people do, buy the big dog size because it is cheaper, then try to dose down. That's very tricky to do. But in this economy it is hard to take the cat to the vet for flea drops, you are looking at a $200 visit, when you can buy a six month supply of pro drops on the Internet for $50. I buy the pro drops off the Net myself, but I buy the appropriate size to be safe. According to the FCC, it's long been known that there are certain brands of drops people shouldn't buy in the stores. I'm glad the gov is finally investigating (there have been lots of death and injury), but I hope it doesn't lead to even higher prices and more restriction. People just got to be smart, and not just cheap, about these things.— March 23, 2010 7:51 a.m.

What's the worst way to die?
The elderly these days have a lot of complicated medical issues and treatment that all the sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, in the world are not qualified or capable of treating. Nursing homes provide medical and physical care when the family is no longer able to provide for the needs of the elderly family member.— March 22, 2010 9:02 a.m.

Hmm, that's odd. It's the same thread that was posted a few days ago.— March 21, 2010 1:09 p.m.
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Good gracious, woman! You must be in an HMO. :) I should think you would heal well, and that's the important thing. Anyway, enjoy your recuperation time. DVDs, magazines, hot chocolate and pets, that's the ticket to health! :) xxxx— March 21, 2010 6:37 a.m.

Admin, can you fix this entry? Sorry, but it is unreadable as is.— March 21, 2010 6:28 a.m.
San Diego Unified charges all kinds of illegal fees
I placed a call into Katherine Nakamura regarding this issue, and I also called the principal, so far neither have returned my call. Really unacceptable and unprofessional. IMO.— March 20, 2010 11:05 a.m.
Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
Awwwwww, well, I can't imagine what it would be like to hear this, though I do know what it's like to be under this kind of stress. I have been having to deal with my grandmother's Social Security issues for a few months now, and it has not been pleasant. In order to become her representative payee, I have gotten wrong information on the phone, which I didn't find out until I got to the office and waited, then went to her doctor's office, then to the Social Security office again, then waited for a letter, then as advised by the office coming to the office again with the letter and her Social Security check, which they were supposed to take the check and reissue another check in my name as her payee, but then the office says no, this letter is just a letter before the actual letter, I got so frustrated I just got up and left the office, I left the letter, check, and told the girl to do whatever she wanted with it. Gawd, it was Social Security who told me that I had to do this, they are just making it incredibly hard to do.— March 20, 2010 10:39 a.m.
More Growing Up Gilroy
The only thing I watch on MTV is Sixteen and Pregnant, man, that show reinforces why everyone says don't have a baby when you are young. Those kids are brain dead.— March 20, 2010 3:45 a.m.
