Your suggestion re the security guards would amount to the same result as banning alcohol, vintage soul. If people carry on like this anywhere, park, public place, private home, police and public authorities will clamp down, then the party people will go somewhere else and then police and public authorities will clamp down, and so on and so on. Let's face it, and as you acknowledge, there are people who want to drink themselves stupid, which I think most people personally don't object to as long as it happens somewhere that doesn't cause problems for others. That's the problem here, and I suspect it would be a problem anywhere: Too many people, too much noise, destruction of property, fighting, public urination and other drunken behavior -- what place would allow all this, even once, much less regularly? You can frame Friends of Kate Sessions as NIMBYs but if you think about it no one would stand this sort of thing very long. So you are quite right, in the long run, this conduct will not be allowed anywhere. Maybe a frat house, or some very isolated private property.— April 20, 2010 3:55 p.m.

Oh, I think there's an El Comal on Imperial Avenue, near where my grandmother lived, if I am not mistaken, I have never eaten there, though. Gabriel's tortillas are delicious hot off the griddle, and Panchita's is very good, great Pan de Tres Leches cake. But you must try Las Cuatro Milpas, Grasca, and tell me what you think. Getting The Check
Thanks Robbie. I have to say I have had to deal with the Social Security office, the Social Services office, and the Department of Motor Vehicles office on Normal Street a lot these days due to all the issues attached to my grandmother's health, not to mention hospital, nursing home, doctors, social workers, the pharmacy, prescriptions, medical equipment, oh and how did I forget this one? Bank. Of. America. Good lord, that's another thread all in itself. Like I said earlier, I barely survive these forays, I don't know how people who are in bad shape physically and/or mentally are expected to get through the system.
