American Idol -- Vanilla Flavor
AG, as I had explained in an earlier post, my understanding is, Paula asked for a boatload of money (though I daresay they can afford it, this is AI, and I'm betting the farm it was far less than what Simon was earning), but the producers refused, so her negotiating team, hereinafter known as "the idiots," dropped their offer to less than half of what she originally asked for, from $30M to like $13M, and the producers wouldn't even entertain the offer. So the idiots talked her into quitting -- it may have been a ploy to see if they would be forced back to the table. I know there was a pretty active fan campaign to get her back, but the producers weren't having it. So something else must have been going on. Whatever that thing was, it wasn't something that would keep her from doing her job, since clearly Simon has no problem hiring her. Guess we may never know.— January 27, 2010 9:35 a.m.

Nan, I have watched the Christmas monkey about a hundred times now. Love the part where he says, I'm not wearing pants! Daniels, it isn't the croc who loses his wig, it's the monkey. :) Back to the topic of my thread: I was just thinking about this today, that American Idol started in 2002, presumably that means Simon, Paula, and Randy have been together since about 2001, that's nine years together up until the end of last season. Still don't get why Paula's gone, and why anyone thought that would be a good idea: Hey, let's get rid of Paula! Good idea!— January 27, 2010 2:20 a.m.
