Response to post #29 To be fair I broke the story about Dominelli's death, my name is Charles Blackwood and I work for AM 600 KOGO. The station who reported it first. I think Don can verify this info. ========== Does Blackwood have any proof to back up his claim? Real estate developments are usually organized as Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) or Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) to insulate the owners from liability for debts in the event the projects go under. Most of these LLCs and LLPs are organized in Delaware to hide the identities of the owners. GH Capital and Luber Adler have probably jointly formed an LLC or LLP to operate the properties with Luber Adler owning the lion's share.— October 15, 2009 10:27 p.m.

I looked at the so-called extras that one will get with the eEdition and was not particularly impressed. Best, Don Bauder ========== Maybe 5 years ago, for a very brief period of time, the U-T allowed the public to access the complete archives of the U-T through the internet, going back some 20 years. I would certainly be willing to pay for the eEdition if access to the complete archives came with the subscription price. If I want to locate old articles in the Union, I have to go to the SDSU Library and search index cards the Librarians maintained by hand and microfilmed.— October 14, 2009 7:15 p.m.

The U-T article also did not address the controversy surrounding Sanders' involvement in the McDonald's SWAT episode. It was rumored that Sanders was drinking beer at a police gathering in Mission Bay when his beeper went off alerting him of the SWAT action. As the story goes, he was dressed in shorts, sandals, and a T-Shirt. Rather than driving directly from Mission Bay to San Ysidro, it was alleged that he went home first and changed his clothes before driving to San Ysidro. This delayed his arrival by almost an hour and 8 minutes before his arrival the gunman starting shooting hostages. Copley Press Trying to Sell 22 Acres Adjoining Fox Hill
Is the Dr Suess estate on Via Valverde????? ============ No. The Suess Estate is located on Encelia, the highest point on Mt. Soledad facing the ocean, and has a 360 degree view. In the 1960s you could see the large concrete observation tower on his property from the park at La Jolla Cove. I don't know if the tower is still visible from the park.— October 12, 2009 8:11 p.m.
Copley Press Trying to Sell 22 Acres Adjoining Fox Hill
I looked up the areial images of Foxhill and I don't think the 22 acres are worth anywhere near $22 million. The land looks like it is very rough, and a lot of expensive engineering and grading would likly have to be performed before anything could be built there. With the recent landslides on Mt. Soledad, a developer would likely have trouble finding a lender to finance the deal, or an engineering firm who would be willing to perform the work. Would the city be willing to issue permits on land like this and face the prospect of more landslide lawsuits? I don't see the La Jolla elite allowing this property to be developed into high density condos or single family homes. It looks like the Dr. Suess estate overlooks the 22 acres and I just don't see condos or homes being built there.— October 12, 2009 5:45 p.m.

LOL.....so true....and why or how he was ever got re elected is a mystery to me. ============= Sanders has a lot of characteristics that appeal to many subsets of the San Diego voter demographic. His daughter is gay so he has the gay vote. His current wife is Jewish which helps him raise political funds and outspend his opponents. When the CHP tried to arrest him for drunk driving, he fled arrest in his Porsche at speeds in excess of 110 mph. As a result of this incident, criminals and sports car enthusiasts tend to vote for him in large numbers. He will likely be elected governor when his mayoral term ends.— October 11, 2009 2:03 p.m.
