Burnham's "Elitist" Remark Hands Victory to Rider
The Schottenstein Group offered $13.50 a share for Burnham Pacific. Burnham rejected the offer and erected poison pill defenses to protect the company from a takeover. In 2000 Burnham Pacific liquidated its assets at a fire sale price. It's not clear how much cash each investor received on a per share basis, but it could have been as little as $2 a share. If Burnham Pacific had held on for another 3 years, the real estate portfolio would have likely tripled in value.— October 24, 2009 3:30 p.m.

I'm assuming that your story is genuine. If it is, I'm so sorry that you find yourself in this situation. I also don't understand why you wouldn't be able to qualify for full financial aid, including housing. ======== These lumpenproletariat class members are probably committing welfare fraud. As you may be aware, it is illegal for college students to collect welfare benefits from the county. Were it legal, most students at SDSU would simply quit their part-time minimum wage jobs and go on welfare so they could attend school full-time. We are FT students. I am maintaining a 4.0 GPA with perfect attendance. We are not the chronic homeless, I see everyday. They choose to be on the sidewalk. ======== You should get off your lazy asses and join the army or the marines. Pay your dues and earn your education with the GI Bill. Is San Diego a haven for Homeless?
Homelessness should be prosecuted as a crime against society and the homeless should be incarcerated to protect society. The chronic homeless need to be rounded up across the country and placed in labor camps run by the US government. The homeless need to be deprived of their liberties to restore their mental and physical health by purging them of the drugs and alcohol that consumes them. Factories should be built at the camps to provide the homeless with gainful employment and to allow them to reimburse the government for the cost of their incarceration. The homeless could manufacture products for welfare recipients, such as eyeglass frames, toothbrushes, shoes, clothing, medical supplies, etc. They could also provide labor to manufacture military uniforms, boots, etc. It's totally insane to allow these vagrants to roam the streets at will, wearing filthy clothes, sleeping on cardboard, etc. A society that allows this to continue has no conscience.— October 22, 2009 10:55 p.m.
Copley Press Trying to Sell 22 Acres Adjoining Fox Hill
Are you kidding me? Rough terrain? This is BEAUTIFUL property in a highly sought-after and prestigious neighborhood... and it is far less steep than many La Jolla locations where massive multi-million dollar estates have benefited from pylons and sold for record sums. ================ The land is scrub land, difficult and costly to develop. The property is like a fish bowl. There would be no privacy if a single large luxury estate were built on the land. From the satellite images, there appear to be many houses on higher elevations overlooking the property. Owners of the higher elevation properties would likely watch the owners of any estate built there with telescopes. You could not build a wall high enough, or plant enough shrubbery, to eliminate the privacy problem. From the Google satellite maps, it looks like Foxhill has this problem as well. If Copley swims in his pool dozens of other property owners on higher elevations can observe him. The only possible use for this land is high density condo or single family residential development. I do not see this happening because of community resistance. In my opinion, the property is not worth $22 million. It is only worth $5 million at most. If I received threatening E-Mail from another blogger and filed a complaint with the police, the E-Mail by itself could not be used as evidence against the blogger in a trial. The police would have to contact an Internet Service Provider (ISP)and actually prove that the Blogger sent the threatening E-Mail from his account. Well, I can send you copies of the emails I sent out to all the news people at KOGO at 700am Monday morning, and we could get Don to admit, that Mary from KOGO called him with the info that I gathered when I saw the obituary and I called the funeral home owner Jon to verify the name was correct. And then Mary called Don with the info I gathered. ======== Blackwood: E-Mails by themselves are not admissable in a court of law unless they are authenticated by a computer expert. It might help your claim if you obtain affidavits from the KOGO news people confirming the date you broke the story. Maybe "Jon" could sign an affidavit.
