I have been to several gatherings at Chicano Park and have never had any problem. The Mexican people are friendly and welcoming people. The local residents have worked hard to keep gangbangers, dirtbags and druggies out of the park. Arthur Schaper went looking for trouble and he found it. If one looks one can find trouble in any park in any section of town.

Biodegradable containers made from plant fiber. Made from chlorine free bleached sugarcane bagasse, natural wheat straw, miscanthus grass fiber and a few others i can't remember right now. They are are petroleum free, grease resistant, can be used for hot or cold foods, microwaveable, biodegradable and compostable.

Well, it seems to me that if a ban is placed on the use of polystyrene food and beverage containers within the city, then those operating within the city will be forced to comply, much like the forced compliance created after an increase in minimum wage. So instead of resisting, they will simply have to choose between absorbing the small cost increase or passing, either a portion or all of it along to their customers.

The private sector has an abysmal record running for profit prison/detention facilities. Their main purpose is to make money. They hire people who would not otherwise meet the standards required by a government run facility. The work for substandard wages and minimal benefits. There just some things that need to be operated by the government.

Au contraire, Hipster. There is definitely such an upper limit, and it has been reached in many areas. The Reader beer-reporting staff is lamenting the closure of many craft breweries and brew pubs. Saturation has been reached, and there will be more consolidation and weaker operations will be falling by the wayside. John is onto something here, and it isn't going to be good for the local micro-and craft-brewing industry.

To each his or her own. Lots of folks love Mexico, but I reckon if I wrote about partisan politics or some other such divisive crud, there'd be more comments. Anecdotes on life in general, especially on positive experiences, just aren't that well commented on. There are a million U.S. citizens living in Mexico for good reason. Apparently, you gave enough of a s**t to voice your opinion. Thank you for the comment.

I may have missed something important in this 10,000 word mini novel … So many anecdotes that are darn near interesting. So many that I couldn't find any indication of what part of this law is causing all the stress. So all I'm seeing is 'bad law', 'bad law', 'bad law' and no hint about exactly what makes it bad.

Mexico is what Republicans want the US to become a mecca of poverty, low wage no/low benefit jobs and cardboard slums.
