The Slashes' singer-guitarist, longtime South Park resident Esteban Rene, attended boarding school in Ensenada, while bassist Beto Bautista grew up in Tijuana and drummer Carlos Robles comes from Lemon Grove. The post-punk trio has performed at venues in San Diego, L.A., and New York, opening for everyone from locals Louis XIV to headliners Moving Units, as well as playing the first San Diego Wonderfront Festival in 2019. They recently dropped a new single called “War Candy.”Headliners The Detroit Cobras will have copies of a new EP on sale, and the bill includes The Film Company.

Psychedelic prog rockers Sacri Monti released a four-song EP on cassette with Under the Gun Records, before signing with New York-based Tee Pee Records in 2015. Their self-titled debut album was recorded at Audio Design with engineer Jordan Andreen. They just finished an east coast tour in support of their new album Retrieval, which they’ll also be promoting on a European tour that kicks off June 20 in Germany and wraps up at the Pleszew Red Smoke Festival in Poland on July 12. Also appearing in City Heights will be Smokey Mirror and Dizz Brew.

Cash’d Out at the Belly Up

Cash’d Out is a Johnny Cash cover band that formed in late 2004 when singer Douglas Benson (who had only recently learned guitar) met guitarist Kevin Manuel through an ad in the Reader. The band strives to recreate music from Cash’s Columbia and Sun Records period, along with the famed live recordings Cash did at Folsom Prison and San Quentin. They’ve won multiple San Diego Music Awards as Best Cover Or Tribute Band and have performed with longtime Johnny Cash drummer W.S. Holland, as well as with John Carter Cash (Cash’s son) and Cindy Cash (Cash’s daughter).

El Cajon resident Nathan Raney began playing music in grade school, starting on the drums before picking up the bass and then guitar. While developing as a songwriter, he studied at Grossmont College and worked retail day jobs at businesses such as Costco. He was seen at his dad Jerry Raney's side when the elder Raney took home a lifetime achievement trophy at the 2021 San Diego Music Awards, as well as gigging around town with Manifold and his own self-named progressive hard tock band. The bill also features Kid Gruesome and Vanouhi.

Shea Givens at L’Auberge Del Mar

Born and raised in Missouri, indie-soul artist Shea Givens grew up singing, songwriting, playing the piano, and performing alongside her mother from a young age. She continued to perform all throughout college, which helped her to develop a unique mix of soul, pop, and R&B. She has collaborated with artists such as west coast multi-platinum producer and talkbox artist Fingazz, Lil Rob, Evan Palmer, Benni Ola, Karats Alexander, and David Francisco, and has performed with R&B songwriter and vocalist Allen Stone.
