To celebrate San Diego River Days, Mission Trails will host a guided hike showcasing the park’s history and ecology. When: Thursday, May 15, 12:30 pm to 2 pm

Where: Mission Trails Regional Park, One Father Junípero Serra Trail, San Carlos, sdriverdays.org

Come explore and even acquire works from Dr. Seuss’s best-known children’s books, as well as The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, a collection based on decades of artwork which Dr. Seuss created for his own pleasure. Throughout his lifetime, Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) created paintings and sculptures that he secreted away in an estate in La Jolla. A notable element of the collection are Seuss’s three-dimensional Unorthodox Taxidermy sculptures, with names such as “Carbonic Walrus”, “Two-Horned Drouberhannis”, and “Goo-Goo-Eyed Tasmanian Wolghast”.

When: Saturday, May 10 until Friday, June 13
