Points are scores according to everything from attitude to accuracy, acrobatics, and outrageousness. Winners receive a guaranteed slot in the National Championships along with a travel stipend. Competitors need to sign up and pay a $10 competition fee. Go ahead and bring along air roadies or air groupies.

Ocean Beach Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off
The chili cook-off features awards for Hottest Chili, Judges’ Award, and People’s Choice Award. Featuring amateur and restaurant divisions, chili entries can be tasted for $2, or attendees can purchase a master ticket for $25 and sample every recipe to vote for their favorite. Two stages of live music, a community mural project, alley of handmade items from local artisans, food and merchandise vendors, and a seaside family fun zone. The beer garden will be near the main stage with a view of the OB Dirty Birds wing eating contest and Hodad’s burger eating contest.

Presented by the San Diego Brewers Guild, this event brings together over 30 independent breweries from across the region as part of San Diego Beer Weekend. Guests can enjoy unlimited two ounce samples from a curated lineup of local breweries while listening to live performances from Loom, Soulseller, and DJ Goldie. The event will showcase local food vendors and artisan makers. VIP admission includes early access and specialty pours.

This year, celebrate the 100 year legacy of Caterpillar — the machines that reshaped America’s fields and roads. Enjoy crawler and wheeled tractors in motion and live demonstrations of steam & gas engines. There will be live music, food, blacksmithing, weaving, and a sawmill in action.

Join a trail guide on a guided nature walk and learn about the plants, animals, geology, history, and ecology of the park. Come out and see lilac covering the park in purple blooms. The Visitor Center Loop highlights coastal sage scrub, chaparral, riparian woodland habitats, and the riverside grinding rocks, one of the archaeological sites in the park. The Oak Grove Loop has majestic coast live oaks, rare Engelmann’s oaks, and a Kumeyaay ‘ewaa (hut).
