North Park Music Festival
More than a dozen North Park venues will host over 40 musical acts in a day-long music festival. Headliners include local rock band The Schizophonics, John Doe, LA’s Strawberry Fuzz, hip-hop Afrika Baby Bam of Jungle Brothers, and Portland’s rising rock band The Macks. The Walkabout app has created a custom digital guide, allowing festival-goers to track performances. The creator fair will be running from 11 am to 6 pm to showcase local zinesters, indie makers, and artists.

Free community event of artists and makers, interactive installations, live music, and East County food trucks. Ticketed beer garden offers tastings from JuneShine, Flying Embers, Burning Beard Brewery, The Tap Truck East San Diego, Granite Lion Winery, Fog Wine Co. and Snake Oil Co. Cassie B (high-energy pop, funk, and soul) will perform at 11:30 am and Kimba Light (Latin, funk, and Afro-Caribbean fusion) will perform at 2:45 pm.

World Oceans Day Mural Debut
SeaWorld and The Salvation Army are joining forces for a mural project, designed in partnership with California colleges. Students from Otis College of Art and Design and Santa Monica College designed and constructed large-scale, ocean-themed murals using end-of-life textiles provided by The Salvation Army. The finished murals will be unveiled on World Oceans Day and will be on display at Dolphin Stadium and the Wild Arctic exhibit.

Learn to Fly Radio Controlled Aircraft
The Palomar Radio Control Flyers are hosting free flight lessons with planes, batteries, chargers, transmitters, “buddy” boxes, and instruction provided. Flying at Johnson Field since 1997, members of the group have access to the 600’ x 40’ asphalt runway, four separate helicopter pads, a pit area with tables, chairs, bathrooms, and an RV parking area.
