National Geographic Live brings explorers from the field to the live stage, as shark researcher and explorer Dr. Jess Cramp aims to change old narratives about sharks. Sharks have roamed the planet’s waters since before the dinosaurs and have evolved into more than 500 species. But only recently have we begun to understand how our actions can threaten them. Dr. Jess Cramp taps into scientific archives to discover 20th-century shark science and storytelling before she explains her own research.

Known from their days backing the late Bob Marley, reggae band The Wailers are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On by playing the album in its entirety, along with other tracks from the band’s storied career. The band is currently led by bassist Aston Barrett Jr, son of the legendary “Familyman.” Their first album in 25 years, One World, earned a 2021 Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album.

Afterwards, enjoy live music on four stages, interactive art experiences, street food, and family-friendly art projects at KidsWalk.

The dark sky committee of Fallbrook is dedicated to preserving the community’s natural night skies by reducing light pollution and promoting eco-friendly outdoor lighting. Come celebrate international dark sky week by stargazing with astronomers and learning about bats, local astrophotography, and light pollution. There will be a Q&A session and kid-friendly activities. Bring your binoculars.
