Wine & Lecture: Navy SEAL Museum

The Navy SEAL Museum Executive Director, Brian “Beef” Drechsler, Captain, USN (retired) will visit the Coronado Historical Association to provide an update on the Museum’s progress. He will highlight the virtual reality module, which gives museum visitors a sense of what a real SEAL mission is like — from mission planning to extraction.

Friday | 18

A Museum on Wheels

The Office of Collecting & Design, a museum of lost and forgotten objects, is taking its collection on tour. Known as a “nostalgia machine,” this interactive traveling museum invites visitors to step inside a 42-foot display of drawers, boxes, and cabinets filled with curiosities. Explore at your own pace or engage in a scavenger hunt or a flatlay photography session. Each stop on the tour features collaborations with local artists.

When: Thursday, Friday and Saturday April 17, 18, and 19, 9 am to 5 pm

EGGstravaganza Spring Festival 

Carlsbad’s largest egg hunt will also offer face-painting, crafts, cookie decorating, a fun zone, and “soak the bunny." Food and beverages available for purchase. The egg scramble is ongoing until 12:30 pm or until eggs run out. To keep the scramble fun for all ages, one field will be designated for children ages 6 and up, and another will be for younger children. There is also a noncompetitive field for babies, children with special needs, and for anyone wanting to pose for a photo opportunity.

San Diego EarthFest 

Come visit over 100 sustainable food, craft, and service vendors as well as environmental, conservation, and animal rescue groups. Enjoy a full day of entertainment with live music, speakers, panel discussions, yoga and wellness classes, and activities for kids. San Diego EarthFest is both family-friendly and dog-friendly, with free parking available.

Orianthi

Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter Orianthi Penny Panagaris, aka Orianthi, was the lead guitarist in Michael Jackson’s band and was present at all rehearsals for his This Is It concerts before his death. She’s also known for her lengthy stint with Alice Cooper and was named Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year by Guitar International magazine in 2010.  After going solo, her hit single “According to You” brought a new level of international fame. Her most recent album Rock Candy was released in 2022.
