Entertaining the children, the cynical, the generous, and the neighbors

Little Hurricane
Little Hurricane

“Our children’s album, Life is But a Dream, is available streaming worldwide,” announced dream pop duo Little Hurricane. Among the fifteen tracks are kids’ standards such as “Wheels On the Bus,” “This Old Man,” “Three Blind Mice,” and “Hole in the Bucket,” as well as a “Railroad Medley” and a dreamy, twinkly version of “Little Star.”

Jefferson Jay

Jefferson Jay’s new Good Vibe Kids video series is geared for parents and caregivers looking for fun and educational programming that kids can enjoy. “Our videos are specifically designed to engage and entertain young viewers,” says Jay, “while also teaching them valuable skills and knowledge. From energetic read-alouds to educational songs and much more, our videos are also safe and age-appropriate, so you can feel confident in the content your children are watching.”

Chuck Charles

Chuck Charles (aka Bigfellas co-founder Charlie Recksieck) will be joined by Spud Davenport for a double record release party on Saturday, April 8 at Goodbar in Point Loma. Charles will play his entire album Hiya, while Davenport will stage a live performance of his newest, Songs For The Cynical. The event will include a food truck and more.

Sully Band

On April 7 at the Belly Up, the Sully Band and The Aquadolls will stage a charity show to benefit physical disability empowerment organization Team Chase. Created to honor the memory of Chase Boyd, who passed away from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, the organization was founded in 2014 by NBA player Bill Walton and his wife Lori, along with Lance Weir of Challenged Athletes Foundation and Boyd’s parents. The night will boast a happy hour and live music, with proceeds to help create a lasting scholarship award in Chase’s memory.

Unwritten Law

Formed in Poway in 1990, Unwritten Law recently released their seventh studio album The Hum, their first new full-length in around ten years. They just kicked off a tour with Authority Zero that does not include a San Diego date, but does conclude nearby at Pappy and Harriet’s in Pioneertown on April 15. That bill includes Las Vegas-based pop-punk outfit Mercy Music.
