Jaceli’s casual clothing from Nordstrom Rack, Lucy Paris, and Marshall’s with a fun personal touch

“I think the best accessory you can wear is a smile.”

This month I attended a backyard BBQ in Chula Vista to celebrate my friend’s graduation. There I met Jaceli, a Chula Vista resident who is originally from Los Angeles. We both griped about our desire for warmer weather — June gloom stubbornly grayed the skies over the party. Before long we’d forgotten the weather and moved on to her stylish look. From 9-5 she’s a concierge at a local hospital where she tends to dress in formal attire. On the weekends she enjoys relaxing in casual clothing. For this outdoor occasion she chose to wear a simple black undershirt that came with a sheer top she purchased at Nordstrom Rack ($20).

A red lip for some contrast!

Black trousers with frill detailing around the ankle area from Lucy Paris ($70), a denim jacket with some color contrast and studs on the shoulders from Marshall’s (brand: Midnight Muse, $45), black pointed pumps from Nordstrom Rack (brand: 14th & Union, $40), and rounded glasses from Nordstrom rack (brand: Gucci, $150) completed her look. For a fun personal touch she added a Frida Khalo pin on her denim jacket.

At work, she explained, “You will usually find me in an all black outfit similar to the one I’m wearing. I just add a pop of color in my blazer or jacket. I love owning fun bright blazers that will make any outfit stand out. Outside of work you will find me in a T-shirt, jeans, and a blazer or a denim jacket.”

I was curious to know if she was an online shopper or if she preferred driving to the mall and buying things in the moment. Without hesitation she said, “I love shopping retail. I need to try things on before purchasing. I love to go into Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx to find awesome deals. My favorite store is Zara. I love how I can find an outfit for every type of occasion.”

Asked about fashion inspirations, Jaceli said, “I interact with people all day, so I get to see what other people are wearing and sometimes I get inspired by them. I follow some fashion accounts on Instagram that inspire me as well. Most of the time I inspire myself to be different and try new things. I think the best accessory you can wear is a smile. If you feel good about your outfit it will show.”
