San Diego is one of the most diverse cities in the United States, according to a new study by WalletHub, a firm that keeps statistics on cities, metro areas, and states.
The city is 11th most diverse among 313 cities and 6th most diverse among large cities — topped only by Oakland, New York, San Jose, Anaheim, and Sacramento. Overall, Gaithersburg, Maryland, is the most diverse among all cities.
The study measures a city's diversity in household income, educational attainment, ethno-racial composition, language, region of birth, occupations, marital status, age, and household size.

The church I attend has seven congregations divided by languages. French, English, Spanish, Cambodian, Samoan, Swahili and Sudanese can be heard every Sunday and during a multi-congregation service it looks like the face of humanity.
It keeps me in San Diego to have found this inclusion.
MichaelValentine: Can the minister do the service in each of those languages? I will bet he or she can't. In any case, this is impressive. Best, Don Bauder
Seven congregations, seven plus pastors ....and one multi congregational executive board. It's far more democratic then the present election. www.midcitynazarene.org
MichaelValentine: Wow. Seven pastors. Best, Don Bauder
thats a lot of tithing
Murphyjunk: That's assuming that they all tithe. I will bet that few, if any, do. Best, Don Bauder
With all that diversity providing San Diego employers with easily intimidated immigrant workforce no wonder hourly wages are so low.
AlexClarke: And San Diego employers don't want to raise the minimum wage. Best, Don Bauder
That diversity also 'lowers the bar' when it comes to how employers treat employees. Some cultures are much more tolerant of nepotism and misogyny in the work place than others. Some cultures, upon immigrating to the US, rather than adopting US ideas and work ethics implement those they are most familiar with. Much to the detriment of the American workers who often throw their hands up in frustration and bail. In my opinion, this behavior has helped to create the Trumpenstein monster. Have a good day Mr Bauder. I thoroughly enjoy your articles.
JohnERangel: You seem to be alluding to the same factors lowering the bar as AlexClarke described. If diversity indeed permits employers to mistreat employees, maybe diversity is overrated. Best, Don Bauder
