July 26 dock totals

47 sportfishing boats from 1/2 day runs to 3-day trips turned in a report for either fishing or returning Sunday. The 1/2 days are getting a mix of bass, rockfish, barracuda and a handful or 2 of yellowtail. 3/4 days are concentrating on the tuna and dorado just outside and multi-day trips are venturing further out or down the Baja coast for the larger schools of tuna and yellowtail.

Chubasco 2 Sportfishing hosted 39 anglers aboard 1 boat and reported a total catch of 2 yellowtail and 33 calico bass. Another 35 calicos were released.

206 anglers aboard 9 boats out of Fisherman's Landing caught 124 sand bass, 107 barracuda, 111 yellowtail, 128 yellowfin tuna, 67 dorado, 6 calico bass and 1 skipjack tuna.

H&M Landing hauled 402 anglers out on the briny aboard 13 boats and posted a total count of 429 yellowfin tuna, 306 yellowtail, 93 dorado, 70 sand bass, 25 calico bass, 168 barracuda and 1 skipjack tuna.

Helgren's Oceanside Sportfishing sent 99 anglers out aboard 2 boats and reported 10 rockfish, 1 leopard shark, 5 calico bass, 1 yellowtail and 1 bluefin tuna caught.

Here are a few of the highlights, as fishing is still fishing and catching is not guaranteed. Just know that all the crews are doing their best to put the anglers on the fish. Even in epic years like the one we are enjoying there are those days when it's a long boat ride with a lot of looking and little catching.

The Dolphin 1/2 day am run with 35 anglers at the rail reported 95 sand bass, 26 barracuda and 8 yellowtail caught.

17 anglers aboard the Pacific Dawn 2 day trip put 18 yellowtail, 7 yellowfin tuna and 22 dorado in the hold.
