Monday 16
The jazz week begins with flutist Lori Bell joining guitarist/vocalist Ron Satterfield at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., no cover charge.

Wednesday 18
Fresh Sound presents the Jean-Charles Francois Trio with Francois on drums, Pascal Pariaud on clarinets, and Gilles Lavall on guitar with a start time of 7:30 p.m. at Bread & Salt (1955 Julian Avenue) $15 … catch the Nathan Hubbard Quartet with Kris Apple on violin, Dillon Casey on guitar, and Caitlin Crow on cello at the Mesa College Recital Hour (7250 Mesa College Drive, Room C-119) 1:00 p.m. free … Gilbert Castellanos hosts the Young Lions Series at Croce’s Park West featuring Marco Leong at 7:00 p.m. for a $5 cover. He plays the first set, then heads over to Seven Grand (3054 University Avenue) to the jam session, which begins at 9:00 p.m. 21+, no cover.

Anthony Davis plays a rare hometown solo piano concert at the San Diego Museum of Art (1450 El Prado) at 7:00 p.m. $20 general admission, $15 members … the Nathan Hubbard Quartet play the Palomar College Concert Hour (1140 West Mission Road, San Marcos) 12:30 p.m. free … the New York Standards Quartet with Tim Armacost, David Berkman, Ugonna Okegwo, and Gene Jackson perform at the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library (1008 Wall Street) at 7:30 p.m. This show is already sold out, but a few tickets may be available at the door. $26 general admission $21 members … the Steph Johnson Trio with Rob Thorsen on bass and Fernando Gomez on drums are at Croce’s Park West 7:00 p.m. for a $5 cover.

Gilbert Castellanos with bassist Rob Thorsen and pianist Joshua White set up at the acoustically pristine Westgate Hotel (1055 Second Avenue) starts 8:00 p.m. no cover, but there is a $20 food/drink minimum.

Saturday 21
The Larry Fuller Trio with bassist Katie Thiroux, drummer Matt Witek and guitarist Graham Dechter light up Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) 8:00 p.m. $20 at the door … the Ron Eschete Trio featuring Rob Whitlock on Hammond B-3 and Tim McMahon on drums do Northern Spirits (727 West San Marcos Boulevard) from 7:30 – 10:30 … vocalist Whitney Shay presents a tribute to Eva Cassidy with Jaime Valle on guitar, Jodie Hill on bass, and Duncan Moore on drums at 98 Bottles, (2400 Kettner Boulevard) at 8:00 p.m. $15 at the door.
