The Ruby Duo featuring vocalist Ruby with Bob Boss on guitar start a two-night-stand at Croce’s Park West (2760 Fifth Avenue ) from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for no cover.

Tuesday 30
Vocalist Leonard Patton is hosting a CD-release party for his Beautiful Day disc at Northern Spirits (727 W. San Marcos Boulevard) with two shows at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Patton will be joined by Peter Sprague, Bobby Cressey, Harley Magsino and Duncan Moore. $10 cover charge… the Ruby Duo return to Croce’s Park West.

Wednesday 1
This week’s star of Gilbert CastellanosYoung Lions Series at Croce’s Park West is tenor saxophonist Nathan Collins fronting a band with Antar Martin, Fernando Gomez, and Paul Raini Castelluzzo. Starts at 8:00 p.m. no cover, but there is a $20 food/drink minimum … the Charlie Arbelaez Trio hold fort at the Rook Bar (7745 University Avenue) with Rob Thorsen and Brett Sanders. The house set begins at 9:30, and the Midnight Jam starts at 10:30. No cover … cellist Jacob Szekely plays with Josh Nelson and Cristopher Allis at Dizzy’s (4275 Mission Bay Drive) from 8:00 p.m. $15 cover.
