LGBT group gives San Diego 100% score

San Francisco, West Hollywood also get perfect scores

The Human Rights Campaign, the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights organization, today (November 12), released its third annual report assessing equality in various metro areas. The ratings are based on non-discrimination laws, relationship recognition, a municipality's employment policies, city service inclusiveness, treatment by law enforcement, and municipal leadership.

San Diego, San Francisco, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and West Hollywood got perfect scores of 100. Berkeley got 95 and Oakland 93. Other San Diego County scores; Escondido 60, Oceanside 57, and Chula Vista 61. Overall, California had a score of 73 points, topping the national average of 59.

HRC RATES COMPANIES. The Human Rights Campaign today (November 19) came out with scores for private sector firms. San Diego's Qualcomm and Sempra Energy got perfect 100 scores. Law firm Luce Forward Hamilton & Scripps got a 70. Best, Don Bauder
