San Diego County has the weather for recreation but not the amenities. That's the inevitable conclusion of a study by WalletHub, a group that gathers statistics and ranks metro areas.
WalletHub rated cities on on such things as percentage of parkland, food and movie prices, bowling costs, and coffee shops, music venues and tennis courts per capita.
Chula Vista was 98th out of 100 cities. Only Laredo, Texas (99th) and Newark, New Jersey (dead last) were worse. In tennis courts per capita, Chula Vista was 93rd out of 100.
San Diego came in 34th of 100 — 12th in park quality and 34th in entertainment and recreation facilities.
