Question:
If Clinton is driven from office by impeachment, does he get a former president's retirement anyway?

Answer: Hell no. No golden parachute if they toss him out of Air Force One. It's the law. At the moment, retirement pay for a prez who goes gracefully is $151,800 per annum (with cost of living increases), then there's a hefty office and transportation allowance, free health care at military hospitals, and a squadron of Secret Service bodyguards. But if we run Bill and Hillary out of town with their suitcases full of lawyers' bills, they'll have to scrape up the bus fare themselves. Then maybe they can line up a Victoria's Secret franchise in Little Rock to see them through their old age.
