"Breathless Through Time: How Oxygen Can Alter Evolution and Adaptation of Life in the Ocean" by
Dr. Erik Sperling, paleontologist.
The oxygen content of Earth’s oceans has changed dramatically through time, from virtually no oxygen to present-day levels, with important consequences for the evolution of life. Today, ocean oxygen levels are also changing as a consequence of global warming. Learn how low-oxygen settings in the modern ocean can inform us about the “explosion" of animal life more than half a billion years ago, mass extinctions, and the future of our oceans.
