Young man in a wheelchair, Chicano, cool haircut, piercings- rolled right off the curb, landed, balanced on the two back wheels, rolling back and forth. In the right turn lane, busy intersection, people going the back way to Sports Arena, off Pacific Coast Highway. Drivers never see pedestrians at this intersection, or rarely, they just screech up, slam on the brakes, look to the left for traffic and are ready for a quick right towards the psych hospital. I wonder how many accidents happen on this corner, the historical perspective.
