Turkey trots multiplying

Three turkey trots to consider for Thursday.

There are more turkey trot events than you can shake a stick at this Thursday. An early morning 5 or 10K on Thanksgiving soothes the conscious and clears a path to the stuffing, candied yams, and pumpkin pie.

Here are three events in some of the outer areas of the county.

Oceanside has the Pacific Marine Credit Union O'side 5 mile/5K run/walk and kid's run. The course starts at the civic center and finishes at the pier area. Online registration is closed but you can still register in person on Wednesday or Thursday. http://www.osideturkeytrot.com

Pathways Community Church in Santee is holding a 5k to benefit Santee Santas and the Santee Food Bank. The course starts at the Pathways Center and winds around Santee Lakes. http://www.pathways.cc/content.cfm?id=437&website_view=mobile&website_view=full

The 2012 Thank You Run is in 4s Ranch and benefits Helen's Closet. This is a 5 or 10K event. The course is interesting because it is part paved part trail. Trail running is the best running. There will be a Karl Strauss beer garden and laser tag at the finish. http://thankyourun.org
