54 years ago, Swallows was a thriving, prosperous community. It was a great place to live and have fun. It was a community where everyone knew everyone. Crime was nonexistent.
In 2003, it burned to the ground. But it rose from the ashes to be a thriving resort once again. Manufactured homes were put in place where the residents of 2003 had lost their rv's. They also had manufactured homes in place to draw others in. Quite a few people bought into the resort.
Four years later, the nudist lifestyle was ripped from beneath the residents with only five (5) days' notice due to familial problems as well as financial. The owner, at the time, after finding out about the resort wanted his money back but it was gone.
A year and a half later, the resort went into bankruptcy and was sold at auction for 2 million dollars. The current owners are still trying to sell the remaining manufactured homes to no avail. Many of the residents are unable to afford the rent and utilities and are being served with eviction notices.
We do not want to lose our homes like we've lost our resort. We need help!
