As I make my way South down El Camino Real, I am confronted by a lot on the right hand side that has a huge sign which reads "Christmas Trees". I can't help but feel a bit bothered by this because well to be honest it just doesn't feel like Christmas or even Thanksgiving, which is a few days away. With the weather still warm and dry out here on the coast, that "magical time of year" just seems surreal. While I make my way down Carmel Valley Rd. closer to North Torrey Pines Rd. I see lots of birds, pelicans and a couple of herons basking in the warm sun at the lagoon. Ahh yes they live the good life. No worries, no habitat encroachment, no poachers or any other dangerous threat. Just a peaceful and pleasant life in their lagoon. Living amongst all of this nature and beauty I still feel like I am in a dream. It is too good to be true. No, it sure doesen't feel like the holidays yet. Until next time...

I agree it didn't feel particularly like Christmas/etc around here; but I also live in a part of town where people are lazy about the lights and so on (Imperial Beach). Nevertheless, it is hard to complain about the Eternal Summer Vacation. I came from somewhere WAY colder than here before this, and enjoyed my Christmas quite a bit more without the -15 Farenheit! This place has a detached sleepiness about it too, and it is easy to forget the passage of time. Days and months and years skip by without notice.

Nice to meet you and thank you for dropping by my blog and for the nice comment;
