The Monarchs of Monte Vista will strap it up against the Wolf Pack of West Hills in Spring Valley tonight in a Grossmont Cross League game. Monte Vista beat previously unbeaten El Cajon Valley last week while the Pack had to host Helix which they have never beaten and still haven’t beaten.
Not only does the match up potentially cause the Wolf Pack problems having to contain Jarrod Scott and Nick Williams, but it is also homecoming at Monte Vista tonight so the crowd and atmosphere will heavily favor the Monarchs. The 31 points scored last week at home is the best performance in four years by the Monarchs and they will try to capitalize on that momentum again tonight.
Jarrod Scott has been the all around leader for his program so far this season. Scott is a two way starter on offense and defense. In addition to his rushing efforts he is also a return specialist who is averaging over 24 yards a kick return while also intercepting a couple passes as well. Last week against El Cajon Valley Nick Williams took back a 97 yard kick off return for a touchdown that just about sealed the deal for the Monarchs. Both of these student athletes are game changers for sure.
West Hills doesn’t have the answer tonight against Monte Vista in a game that should revolve around the rushing attack. The Monarchs will grind their way to another victory tonight at Homecoming.
Prediction (Monte Vista 24 – West Hills 10)
