The Valhalla’s “Pete Thomas Express” makes a stop against El Capitan

Talk about two schools experiencing being on the other side of the coin in recent years. Valhalla has been a custom to running the ball on their opponents while El Capitan has been throwing the football all over teams for the last half decade. Now each school is going through some different times.

The Pete Thomas Express of Valhalla rolls into a home game in Rancho San Diego this week with the Vaqueros getting the next shot at the undefeated Norsemen. Thomas is completing a gaudy 68% of his passes through four games and leads all of the East County quarterbacks in yards per game at 258 a contest. The El Capitan defense has been the staple for the team the entire year and this game will take the best the Vaqueros got because Thomas is spreading the ball to at least 5 different receivers a game which is hard for any defense to defend.

The El Capitan’s offense has been the leading pass offense in East County for some time now, but this year quarterback Tanner Rust has not succeeded the way he did last year in terms of throwing the ball. A major factor in his performance has been the offensive line which has yielded a lot of pressure on their senior quarterback. Another area that is been detrimental to the offense has been the rushing game, or lack there of I should say. Already half way through the season and the El Capitan offense doesn’t not have a running back over 175 yards in rushing.

The Norsemen have way too much momentum to be stopped by the Vaqueros this week. Look for another 250 yards from the strong armed ace Pete Thomas.

Prediction (Valhalla 35 – El Capitan 17)
