Helix Looks for Redemption Against West Hills

Helix escaped a near loss at home last Friday night when then the Otay Ranch Mustangs, who are ranked #10 in the Section this week, almost pulled the upset but had to settle for a 19 -19 tie. Some coaches say they would rather take the loss but I know Coach Starr from Helix is just grateful enough to squeeze out a tie last week because his ball club played some serious sloppy football. Turnovers and penalties have hampered the Scotties in their loss to Mira Mesa and the tie last week against Otay Ranch.

This week’s task for Coach Starr’s ball club will be a little bit easier than last week. Although I’m sure the Scotties we’re right back at work Monday and fired from the tie, Helix is just way too much for West Hills this year either way. Last year Helix beat West Hills 35-0 and you can expect about the same production if not more from Helix this time around.

West Hills did get their first victory of the year over Montgomery last week, but Montgomery is no where near the same caliber of team as Helix is. West Hills does have a decent kicking game and if the was going to be close game they would have a shot at the upset, but Helix is out for redemption and they always answer the bell. Helix gets back on track this week for a blow out against West Hills.

Prediction (Helix 49 – West Hills 0)
