Albert Brooks back as 'Marlin' in Finding Nemo 2

None

While I'd much prefer to report news of Albert Brooks directing Still Lost in America or Looking for More Comedy in the Muslim World, fans will be pleased to learn that he has finally agreed to lend his considerable talents to another sequel, Finding Nemo 2.

Deadline reports "Brooks has closed a fat deal to reprise the voice Marlin in Finding Nemo 2 for Disney‘s Pixar."

Original director Andrew Stanton signed on in July 2012 followed quickly by Ellen 'Dory' Degeneres. Internet kibitzers are suggesting Brooks held out for a bigger payday.

On a similar note, how must poor Andrew Stanton feel after learning of Deadline's shock and surprise that he was actually handed control of another live-action feature after the box office debacle of John Carter on Mars?

No official release date has been set, but Monsters University, The Good Dinosaur, and The Inside Out should keep the studio busy until 2016.

I'm still hoping Brooks will do a sequel (or prequel) to 1991's Defending Your Life. This was one of his best ever.

Albert is working on his second novel and as of now has no plans to return to the director's chair. It's doubtful that he would ever direct a sequel to one of his films. Hopefully they will all live well into their 90's and Albert will join Marty, Paul, Bob, Cybill, and Jodie on the psycho senior thriller, "Taxi Hailer." "You talkin' to me? My hearing aid is out of batteries. You talkin' to me?"

Hate it or love it Lena Dunham has replaced Albert Brooks & Woody Allen in comedy these days. What Albert needs is a TV show. One or two films a decade is not enough! We need this guy all the time.

"Tiny Furniture?!" You been hitting the Elderberry Brandy again, Dotty? I feel towards her the way Lugosi felt about Karloff in "Ed Wood."
