Did President Nixon help finance part of San Diego?
Yeah, he's not too bad for a former heroin junkie. I think Taibbi started writing for RS during the 2004 election, but I think he's only been a contributing editor since about 2008. As I said, the RS article on Hunt was sometime in 2007, so I'm guessing you're a relative late comer to Taibbi's RS contributions. I do have to say that while most of his stuff is good, sometimes I think he stretches his connections a bit. I also have to say, that to me, a little bit of the shine has rubbed off of Taibbi since his Vanity Fair "incident" a couple of years ago.— July 21, 2012 10:04 a.m.

I'm pretty sure that you don't read Rolling Stone either. Several years ago, not to long after his death, there was an article on the subject. It relates how at one point, when Hunt was very ill and thought he was on the verge of death(which as it turns out he wasn't), he related his involvement in Kennedy's assassination to his son.— July 21, 2012 1:24 a.m.
Holmes's Father Is Anti-Fraud Scientist
According to the Aurora Police Chief, the guns were all purchased locally and legally within the last 2 months. I believe that he bought the AR-15 and one of the Glocks at 2 separate Gander Mountains stores and the other Glock and the Remington shotgun were purchased on separate occasions at a Denver Bass Pro Shops location. The Chief also said that nearly 7,000 rounds and multiple magazines for those weapons were purchased online. In addition, Colorado is apparently one of two states, Arizona being the other, that don't restrict the sales of semi-automatic assault rifles, in this case the AR-15. and they have no gun registration. In fact, in Colorado, As of 2003, it is illegal for any local government or law enforcement agency to "enact an ordinance, regulation or other law that prohibits the sale, purchase or possession of a firearm that a person may lawfully sell, purchase or possess under state or federal law. He also purchased the tactical gear he was wearing online, from a place called TacticalGear.com, based in Missouri and apparently paid extra for expedited 2-day shipping. No confirmation yet on the 2 smoke and or tear gas canisters and where/how he obtained them— July 21, 2012 1 a.m.

It was E Howard Hunt's wife. Supposedly she was on the way to Chicago with $100k to pay off the guy who provided the bugs that Hunt used to try and get blackmail material. If you choose to believe the conspiracy theorists, some say it was Hunt and his operatives who were in Dealey Plaza providing the diversion that enabled the real Kennedy assassins to escape.— July 20, 2012 5 p.m.
Holmes's Father Is Anti-Fraud Scientist
I just read that in February 2011, James Holmes attended an interview weekend for the graduate interdisciplinary program in neuroscience at the University of Arizona. It was reported that his application to the program was rejected. Some might also remember that on January 8th, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and thirteen people were injured and six others were killed in a shooting there. Under the circumstance, one has to wonder did the rejection by the University of Arizona and/or the assassination attempt on Giffords have some affect on Holmes. It has also been reported that after he was taken into custody Holmes referred to himself as "the Joker".— July 20, 2012 4:48 p.m.
Traffic Cop Questioned in Encinitas
Except you referred to CVC 22350 as the basic speed law, not me, and it specifically refers to highway And no I don't say that allows you to go as fast as you want. You're a lalwyer surfpuppy619, so your profession has no basis in truth or what's right. It's based strictly on winning your case and as such it's your nature to make your own interpretation to suit your viewpoint. That's fine. I think you're wrong and you think you're right. Let me conclude my participation in this exercise by saying this. You have , by your count, at least 40+ tickets. Irregardless of how many you beat and how you beat them, that speaks volumes to me about your driving. I'm nearly 62 and I started driving when I was 13. You can do the math, but I have been driving almost as long as yuo have been alive. I have received exactly 4 tickets and have never had even a single point on my record. One was a nonpoints violation that might have cost me $20, one was for going 32 in a 25 which I took traffic school for and the other 2 were exceeding the posted speed limit on the freeway. I was innocent of both so I fought them and won both. My driving habits apparently don't draw as much attention as yours do. But then again, I guess if some one needs a lawyer to fight a traffic ticket for them, I suppose they would want one with a lot of "experience". Don't forget to buckle up and HAPPY MOTORING!!!!!!! http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/jul/2…— July 20, 2012 2:20 p.m.
NRC: Edison Did Not Violate Policy On San Onofre Generator Replacement
You left out a just little bit. The NRC report found that the design changes were properly reported and reviewed and that the changes between the original and new steam generators were "commonly used in replacement steam generators today," although it also characterized some of them as "major design changes." Also the NRC team concluded that errors in computer modeling by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the manufacturer of replacement steam generators, led to the tube wear issues.— July 20, 2012 1:33 p.m.

Wasn't Nixon also involved with Key Biscayne Bank, which Rebozo started in the early 60's? Supposedly, he had the first account opened. I think the general consensus was that Rebozo started it with mob money. Kind of hard to believe NIxon was unaware. I have also read that Rebozo is the one who actually paid for Nixon's estate when it was purchased in 1969.— July 20, 2012 11:19 a.m.

"What has always struck me about Nixon is his astonishing hubris." Nixon was a lawyer AND a politician. How can you be surprised. It's not only a forgone conclusion but almost a prerequisite for someone engaged in either of those professions. But then someone who is both? I can say that personally, I have never been surprised by the hubris of anyone in politics and in particular someone who has risen to the level of POTUS. http://sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2012/jul/2…— July 20, 2012 10:59 a.m.
