Boxer, Markey demand San Onofre investigation
Markey has been a critic of the NRC for a long time, but the fact that he is running in the primary to take over John Kerry's Senate seat that is less than 90 days away tells me that his focus maybe elsewhere for the next few weeks. Boxer is the chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee. One of the subcommittees is Clean Air and Nuclear Safety. That subcommittee has jurisdiction over the NRC. It would seem to me that she should be able to do a little more than "urge" the NRC. Just my opinion. Opinions vary.— February 6, 2013 5:39 p.m.

surfpuppy619, I did the map search this morning to see how long it would take you to find it, as your normal response is that surfpuppy is too busy to look it up. LOL I was going to f*uck with you a little more, but you apparently still don't play well with others. I don't know the address because I've never cared to look, but it is the house at the corner of San Antonio and Perry. We used to walk down there to the end of the street to watch the fireworks. It's a pain in the ass now, but it used to be easy to get down to what little beach there is.— February 6, 2013 4:11 p.m.

Dude, quit being such a lazy ass and look something up for yourself. I just did a map search and it took less than 45 sec to type in San Antonio Ave, Pt Loma and zoom down to the only house with a pool. And actually, the address isn't San Antonio Ave, it's the other street the property fronts.— February 6, 2013 12:11 p.m.

Yeah, like sorry man, but your way to young too be a "kool Kat" from that era.— February 6, 2013 11:52 a.m.

Yeah, safe to say, at 62, I'm sure as hell no hipster. I may have long ago cut my hair, quit smoking reefer and learned how to play the man's game and make alot of money, but I'm still just an old hippie at heart.— February 6, 2013 11:51 a.m.

My bad, I meant the second part, the never been a reader part, for Don Bauder. was in a hurry and forgot to specify that. I have all but a handful of issues from RS1 with John Lennon on the cover up to RS 277 with Gilda Radner on the cover. Many of the early issues were my brothers. Alot of great issues back then. Hard to pick a fav. Issue 1 of course, but after that, probably too tough to pick.— February 6, 2013 11:48 a.m.

Didn't intend to say that he was a lib. I said then throw in the likes of Jan Morris, P.J. O'Rourke, William Greide as an illustration of RS culture at the time. I understand the confusion, though. I believe a long time RS reader would be hip to my meaning. Most cats from that era remember RS for what it was then, and to an extent is returning to, and look with some disdain to what it was during it's "pop culture" era. I guess having never been a RS reader, it's not your bag. That's cool, though. Groove to what you know.— February 5, 2013 11:25 a.m.

Actually, It's San Antonio Ave, it's a private home and I know exactly where it is. My aunt has lived not to far from there for a long, long time. Nice view across to Shelter Island.— February 5, 2013 10:56 a.m.
