How does surfpuppy619 feel about the fact that he voted in favor of HR1, though?— May 18, 2011 1:31 p.m.
The Terminator's Lawyer Tried to Intimidate the Reader, Too
You forgot to mention that Joe Kennedy also bought the election for his son. In a sense, Maria Shriver is just following in Jackie Kennedy's shoes, so to speak. I'm sure she knew more than she let on as did Jackie. Joe Kennedy's father Patrick got the family started in the liquor business, after a fashion. His family were farmers, but he learned the trade of coopering, At some point he made it to Boston and a friend of his from Ireland got him a job at a brewery. And thus began the family association with alcohol. My paternal grandfather was born in southern Ireland, and his side of the family has been traced back in Ireland to the 1500's. At some point they were farmers in the same region as the Kennedy clan, though I don't know that they ever knew them.— May 18, 2011 1:27 p.m.

16 arbitrations and 4 written demands registered against WFP Securities
Well, you should pull your wallet out and make a stop at the Shake Shack, the orangecicle is my personal fav, but other than that, I wouldn't worry. you can't even get close to 90+% of the homes there. Most of them are guard gated and they take their privacy VERY seriously. These days, Newport is more entertainment celeb then con man. Including Balboa, it's pretty much the entertainment version of the artist's enclave in Laguna.— May 18, 2011 9:23 a.m.

Scorecasting by Tobias Moskowitz and Jon Wertheim – lessons for Padres and Chargers
The NL West is their division, not their league. And in terms of on the field, I would argue that the NL central is no better than the NL west, if not worst. The Cubbies, Astros and the Bucs were 3 of the worst NL teams last year and aren't any better this year. And in the Al, the central is not much either. The only suprise is the Indians playing so well and the Twins sucking so bad; at least they can fairly claim injuries as their. Excluding the AL east which is hands down the best division in baseball, last year there was only about a 3-4 difference percentage wise between all of the other divisions. When it all shakes out, I would expect this year to be the same.— May 16, 2011 4:55 p.m.

Dumanis Seeks Justice
I highly doubt anyone has or will file such pleadings. The president's powers to pardon under Article 2 Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution are absolute. There is no congressional input into the pardon process, no judicial review, no standards and and only one limitation -- no pardons for the impeached. Except for impeachment, the Constitution places no restrictions whatsoever on the president in granting pardons. Once the pardon has been delivered, it cannot be reversed. Any limitation or change to the president's power to grant pardons would require an amendment to the Constitution.— May 12, 2011 10:20 a.m.

The Hit Man I Can't Forget
In the early 1970’s a popular hangout for glam rock musicians and groupies was Rodney Bingenheimer's English Disco. The Strip continued to be a major focus for punk rock and New Wave during the late 1970’s, and it became the center of the colorful glam metal scene throughout the 1980’s. The 1979 Donna Summer song "Sunset People" from the album Bad Girls, was about the nightlife on Sunset Boulevard. With the increase in rents in the area during the 1980’s, however, and the decline of the glam metal scene in the early 1990’s, the Sunset Strip ceased to be a major area for up and coming rock bands without industry sponsorship. The adoption of "pay to play" tactics, in which bands were charged a fee to play at clubs like the Roxy, the Whisky and Gazzari's (now the The Key Club) also diminished the appeal to rock bands other than as an industry showcase. The music industry dominates clubs on the Strip such as those mentioned above, and only major acts perform at the House of Blues. Thus, during the 1990’s, the center of more alternative music activity in Los Angeles shifted further east to areas like Silverlake, Los Feliz and Echo Park. The "Riot Hyatt", still continues to be a favorite with bands today, such as Justin Timberlake, Breaking Point, and Timbaland, for its continual easy access to live music venues, including The Whisky, Roxy, and House of Blues. In November 1984, voters in West Hollywood passed a proposal on the ballot to incorporate and the area became an independent city. Increasingly, the western end of the Strip is occupied by office buildings, mostly catering to the entertainment industry, and expensive hotels.— May 8, 2011 10:27 p.m.
