Tamales, Tacos, Flies
It's Tacos El Gordo... http://tacofriday.blogspot.com/2008/05/week-4-tac… From the Yelp pix Marisco's German Taco Truck looks damn good for fish. There is another taco truck, but I don't know the name. It is parked behind this liquor store (sorry for the amazingly long link) http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=i905… Killer Marlin Tacos! - Joe— October 29, 2009 8:19 a.m.
Tamales, Tacos, Flies
SD - the last entry on that blog eas over a year ago... we ran it for a while and it just kind of petered out. I think it's time to start it up again! 'Fish - Ever try La Fashada? It's right in your 'hood (corner of Commercial and 25th)Really good Carnitas, really good Cabasa. The fried onions are tasty, too. Hands down the best Adobado I have found is at Tacos Gordo in Chula Vista... you guys have to try that place (not you SD - all meat, no pescado). - Joe— October 29, 2009 8:01 a.m.
Tamales, Tacos, Flies
Congrats! I think that you are my new favorite writer. I sure miss the tamales that my dad's aunts would make for special occasions. Beef with raisins were my favorite... There was an SD Reader front page story a while back that inspired some friends and me to do this: http://tacofriday.blogspot.com that reader sroty: http://www.sandiegoreader.com/news/2008/jan/23/co… I have to start doing Taco Friday again. First place I hit is this: http://www.yelp.com/biz/mariscos-german-taco-truc… It's 5:02 AM and I want a taco! - Joe— October 29, 2009 5:03 a.m.
Bonus Blog: And The Same To You, Guv
I like the guy. He walked into a really hard situation and has tried to do right by California. Fiscally conservative, Morally liberal. That FU was rad, too. - Joe— October 28, 2009 12:10 p.m.
Worst Feeling Imaginable
That is a funny looking sword. More of a pokey rectangle with a handle. When I think sword I think Conan... (not O'Brien).— October 28, 2009 6:23 a.m.
It's Not About The Uniforms
Keeping a child from playing is really the worst kind of punishment a teacher can deal out... especially when it is all week. Kids need to be active to learn. If they are not active, they fidget, their minds wander and they do not absorb the lessons. Ricky - Do you have kids? - Joe— October 28, 2009 5:56 a.m.
The pumpkin patch
Oma's is the best. Earlier the day we went there was a calf born as people on the hayride watched. Wish I'd have seen that.. - Joe— October 27, 2009 10:27 p.m.
It's Not About The Uniforms
Yeah, I knew Ralph... He was fun to be around in school, and it was always good to see him in the years afterward. Too bad about the decisions he made that got him in hot water, I do believe that he is a good guy that had good intentions. He allowed himself to be distracted. Oh, well - I don't want the comments to turn into a Ralph bash, the topic of this post is more important than that. - Joe— October 27, 2009 9:54 p.m.
It's Not About The Uniforms
Thanks for writing this! I never considered this facet of the uniform debate - How do you enforce the uniform rule.. From reading your blog posts, in your life you have many opportunities to be compassionate, and you have made the most of those times. We meed more people like you! And... Damn - What a terrible teacher. One thing that you may not know about Ralph is that he is a product of private education... I know, he was in my high school graduating class. - Joe— October 27, 2009 9:40 p.m.
A cause de SDaniels, I have finally Discovered the Object Cause of my Desire...And there It goes again.
"LOLOLOL! I've heard of blue balls, I'd pay to see orange balls!" careful what you ask for! http://abaltimoreblock.files.wordpress.com/2008/0… - Joe— October 27, 2009 2:02 p.m.
