I don't vaccinate my children. But I don't want to get into a discussion about it! The information is available to anyone who wants to investigate it.
This clip was sent to me recently - you have to have half a laugh at the comment about the Russian Olympic team! Maurice Hilleman has been credited with saving more lives than anyone else. To me he is more like Dr Death. — November 3, 2009 2:35 a.m.

Love my front loader and dryer. If I lean back can see them now. Don't even use the washing line in summer, unless I am uplifted, energetic and being a 'good housekeeper', and then it is only ever the linen from my bed. Towels stay soft. No need to iron if removed from the dryer while warm. Thanks for the information on my front loader Fish! I've always wondered what was happening - like hey, where's the water?— November 5, 2009 7:26 a.m.

Kissinger the King Maker! Beautiful pieces that you have written fish - I found a particular resonance with my own meandering thoughts about our purpose and reason and significance, in Eadie's understanding of the homeless man's mission in life. As for NDEs and OBEs - I have never had one of these, but know someone who frequently has OBEs. So I believe that they happen. However I would hazard that not all people have a special experience as they depart. Kerry Packer, who until his death was Australia's richest man, actually died twice. The first time he was resucitated and he proclaimed to all, something to the effect of: "There's nothing there - you die and that's it." Well, perhaps for him! I think that your experience of the afterlife depends on your 'spirit' during life. I hope my father had a pleasant experience as he died. I hope he was welcomed, wherever, by his two brothers who died young.— November 3, 2009 1:48 p.m.

Are they a particular breed, or the rescued variety! I know a woman with 6 burmese, and she has electrified her fence! I would love a cat, but unlike dogs (of which I have one) you can't get someone to look after them if you go away, so for that reason I haven't got one.— November 3, 2009 1:26 p.m.

"Years" (about 18 of them) not just two! Air travel is difficult for all children, though having said that I recently went to Langkawi with my 2 year old and he was fantastic on the plane. We just made sure he had a good meal beforehand and then had yoghurt and bananas for the flight (5 hours). And water. I am positive that the badly behaved children referred to had eaten crap beforehand. Probably lollies to keep them quiet at the beginning of the flight and then ka-pow all hell breaks loose as the chemicals and sugar do their stuff. Sharing opinions yes, but getting personal ie ""All my children have had the occasional tantrum" I must have mistaken your earlier point--thought you were saying that an occasional tantrum or acting out in a public place was totally avoidable through diet and some specific programs you might recommend." I had actually said that children will have tantrums "...because they are tired or hungry or they are affected something in their environment." I also said in one post that bad foods are unavoidable - ie childrens' parties. The main point really is that these children that people glare at because they are misbehaving are not at fault - and if you look to the parents who are really (mostly) trying to do their best, "their excuse is ignorance, misleading advertising, an incompetent medical profession that relies on research from pharmaceutical companies (therefore not independent research) and their own poor diet and lack of structure in their lives."— November 2, 2009 1:25 a.m.

Done with this subject fish - give me another one where I can infuriate people. Hey SD - not coming to this thread anymore. Maybe we can find some common ground elsewhere.— November 1, 2009 8:05 p.m.

SD, I wrote about a little more than just diet, and included other variables in saying that a child needs nourishment. A healthy plant is well nourished. The same goes for children. If you prefer to get into complexities and make a real meal (pun) of the subject go for it. I stand by what I say and to suggest that my 'diagnosis' is two minutes worth overlooks the years of research I have done on this subject to the point where I can confidently and reductively say "Diet is the key."— November 1, 2009 8 p.m.

Your yuppie friends have not set boundaries, and also children chuck tantrums because they are tired or hungry or they are affected something in their environment. All my children have had the occasional tantrum! I'm not perfect! Sometimes you cannot help but put them in a situation where they might chuck a tantrum ie waking them too soon from an afternoon sleep because you have to pick the others up from school, an unexepected guest to throw out the routine etc etc.— November 1, 2009 7:12 p.m.
