Division II: Oceanside vs. Helix
Hey.....Oceanside ! You had a great year. You should be proud of your team, and it's performance. You were one of the best in the San Diego Section this year ! Cathedral......You were the best! Cathedral will represent San Diego well at the Division II Championship Bowl next week in Carson! Go Dons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!— December 14, 2008 3:46 p.m.
Division II: Oceanside vs. Helix
Oceanside is a good team! No doubt about that! Cathedral is a good team! No doubt about that! But, OSide fans.....lets not let your emotions get tangled up in the FACTS! As Sgt. Friday of the Old Time Detective TV Show used to say often...."Just The Facts!". 9 of the 10 teams Cathedral played during the regular season made the CIF Playoffs. Oceanside can not make that claim! Cathedral posted a 5-0 record against teams who were in higher Divisions than they were. They played no teams who were in lower Divisions than they were. Oceanside posted a 4-0 record against teams that played in a higher Division than they played in. Oceanside played 3 teams, and posted a 2-0-1 record against teams that played in a lower Division than they did ?????????? Who played the tougher schedule? You decide! There's a reason the Cathedral Dons have been the No. 1 team in the San Diego Section (as identified by the UT Rankings) since November 17th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!— December 14, 2008 1:09 p.m.
Division III: Cathedral Catholic vs. Valhalla
As Sgt. Friday on the old TV show often said, "Just the facts". Nine of the 10 teams Cathedral beat during the regular season went to the CIF playoffs. Cathedral had a 5-0 record against teams who play in higher divisions than they do. They played no teams in a division lower than their own. Oceanside had a 4-0 record against teams from a higher division, and a 2-0-1 record against teams who play in a lower division than they do. You can probably look at the schedule factor several different ways. Who had the tougher schedule.....Oceanside, or Cathedral? You decide!— December 14, 2008 5:14 a.m.
