St. Columba Fall Festival Set for Oct. 16-18
Parishioners and friends of St. Columba Catholic Church are invited to the parish’s first Fall Festival, Oct. 16-18 at the church campus on Glencolum Drive in Serra Mesa. The event will feature live entertainment and a chance to win a brand new car from Toyota of Poway.
Proceeds from the three-day event will support the 60-year-old church and its K-8 parochial school, whose buildings are in need of repairs and upgrading. Father Mel Monreal was named pastor of St. Columba last year and leads a congregation of more than 1,200 families.
The three-day fall festival will be a community event with something for every age group.
• Friday, Oct. 16: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.: An adult-only Oktoberfest event with German food and local craft beer.
• Sat. Oct. 17: noon to 11 p.m.: Live bands, dance performances, kid’s inflatable zone, games, foods from around the world.
• Sun. Oct. 18: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Pancake breakfast (8 a.m. to 11 a.m., outdoor Mass (9:30 a.m.) and car raffle (4 p.m.)
In addition to a brand new car from Toyota of Poway, raffle participants will have an opportunity to win a 55 inch Sony TV, a 16 GB iPad and a Sony Action Cam.
Raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100.
St. Columba is located at 3327 Glencolum Dr., San Diego, near the Serra Mesa Recreation Center.
