Lace lichen (Ramalina menziesii) growing on Monterey cypress trees at Point Lobos State Reserve.  September 2015.  A combination of a fungus and algae and a member of the Bromeliad family of plants, Ramalina menziesii is California's state lichen.  Point Lobos State Reserve is located just south of Carmel, California.
