Well!! Jodhpur is not just a city but a feeling I am living in Jodhpur since childhood and I can say any traveler must visit Jodhpur as jodhpur is completely different than other cities in Rajasthan. People of Jodhpur are so helpful and nice also you will not be looted by guides and other people like other big cities.
Jodhpur is well connected by all other cities by Raod, Train and by Air also. to experience Jodhpur you need at least 2 days to explore core Jodhpur and after that, you can go to villages like Osian for sand dunes.
