Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
SP said: "they were usually a cocktail waitress, or hostess, or something similar, but they are pretty much everyday women-with the exception of the porn star who he met at HIS own bachelor party" It's 2 porn stars SP, not one, and they were both supposedly used multiple times and were set up through a madam. Another woman was a lingerie model, another was a playboy playmate and escort who were also set up by the madam. Another woman is described as a "nightclub frequenter" who was often flown to tournaments for him. Those titles are typically euphemisms. Two of the women on the tiger list are said to have been primarily responsible for setting him up with women. One of them they now say he may not have had sex with while the other (the original woman, Uchitel) became involved with him. I'm not sure why you want to believe that the only "professional" he bedded was a bachelor party indiscretion, but that does not appear to be the case. "Every-day women" is decidedly NOT what most of these women were.— December 17, 2009 2:16 p.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
"his hook ups were certainly not hookers." At least a couple were porn stars and several others were semi-pro at least. Besides, so far I have only heard of 1 Brit and the rest are American. Woods travels internationally quite a lot. What do you suppose happens when he goes by himself to play in Thailand or Dubai? You don't think the tour sponsors take good care of him? I haven't heard any evidence of this, but it is rather hard to imagine that he has that little control in America, but becomes a perfect gentleman when he travels without his wife abroad.— December 16, 2009 6:18 p.m.
This Is How Bad It Is in Tourism
re Chargers: I recently read an astute comment by Bruce Henderson that the Chargers dropping all pretense of privately financing a new stadium and directly asking for a huge public subsidy was such an obvious non-starter, that it smacked of political cover. He speculates that this latest shift is a strong indication that a deal is near done to leave San Diego.— December 16, 2009 1:50 a.m.
Kittles Got $3.15 Million in cash for Rhoades School
Response to #4: It should be noted that the UT reporter primarily responsible for writing the "news" pieces smearing Aguirre based on information passed from Sanders' spokesman Fred Sainz to Kittles, is now himself a spokesman for Sanders (Alex Roth). No conflict there....— December 8, 2009 11:45 a.m.
Hedge Funds Buying Stocks, Wee Folk Selling
"The issue is not how many hours attorneys work per week, but rather, how many hours they bill each week." ================================================================ The lawyers lament: Only 24 billable hours in a day.— December 3, 2009 8:27 a.m.
Blackwater OK'd $1 Million Hush Payments to Iraqis: Reports
OR, The truly odd thing is that the judge reduced his sentence because of testimonials of all the good work he did at Kaiser, but it was Kaiser from which he misappropriated the funds (300K according to the LA Times). How does that equate?— November 12, 2009 8:17 a.m.
Blackwater OK'd $1 Million Hush Payments to Iraqis: Reports
Response to #2 (SP): Leland Wong was an LA Commissioner who was paid by a Taiwanese shipping firm. Among other things, he gave the deputy mayor Lakers tickets and paid for "massages" while lobbying hard for the shipping company. For 14 felonies he got whopping 5 years. He was guilty of Graft and corruption under California law (LA Superior Court), so I don't think that is applicable to the Blackwater case. I never heard whether Evergreen (the shipping company) was penalized in any way. I would think that Evergreen was more in the Blackwater position.— November 11, 2009 9:31 p.m.
SDGE Lobbyist Said to be Innocent, Reinstated
Visduh, Do you know what the sex angle was? 45 degrees? Perpendicular? Parallel? SP doesn't believe any sex took place, so if you know the angle involved, that might help convince him. ;)— November 6, 2009 4:25 p.m.
SDGE Lobbyist Said to be Innocent, Reinstated
Don said: "This is an esoteric discussion, and I fear I have not been invited to the party." But Don, it's your party in your house! We are just the annoying party guests who weren't really invited in the first place, and who are now crashed on your couch and refuse to leave. Hey Don, as long as you are up, do you mind grabbing me a beer from your fridge? ;)— November 5, 2009 9:55 p.m.
SDGE Lobbyist Said to be Innocent, Reinstated
Burwell, Thanks for clarifying that. I was confusing the issue by mixing terms. A suspended sentence is a strong sign that you can have your record expunged, but it is not itself the expungement. I have no idea what SP is referring to regarding govt sector, because you absolutely can in fact get a top secret security clearance with a misdemeanor. Drug offenses are frowned on as are court marshalls or other military disciplinary proceedings. A single misdemeanor (defined for government clearances as crimes where the maximum penalty is up to 1 year) is not disqualifying. It takes a serious felony or multiple lessor chargers (misdemeanors or infractions) to be disqualified for a government clearance. In fact a person with a single misdemeanor may be able to get a top secret clearance where a person with a high number of moving and parking infractions may not. A bankruptcy can also be more disqualifying than a misdemeanor for a high level clearance. Police departments in various jurisdictions have rules that vary from the federal standards. As far as attorneys go, I know of one local currently practicing defense attorney who spent a substantial number of years in jail for a fairly brutal assault. SP, what exactly were you referring to?— November 5, 2009 9:52 p.m.
