Uptown Planners Hear Proposal to Rename Hillcrest Street After Harvey Milk
No. Why the heck would we honor a San Franciscan, no matter what he did, for whomever. Find a San Diegan.— March 5, 2012 4:39 p.m.
Ten Nabbed for Providing Alcohol to Minors
What they failed to mention that was the 'minors' were probably young females and the buyers were young men. Just as San Diego's finest used to implant recent female academy graduates into local high schools to entice 'fellow students' to acquire drugs for them. We really need to lower the legal drinking age in the USA, to be like the rest of the civilized world. As a consolation to our heavy puritan heritage, I'd agree to the age of 19. 21 is so, 'random' so to speak.— February 27, 2012 8:34 p.m.
Utilities Commission to Hear from San Diego Public
Let's see now. The night of April 5th, Easter week, the night before Good Friday. Hmmm, good choice for a day when a majority of the working populace will be elsewhere, or making plans to be elsewhere. And it may 'extend' into Good Friday? What the heck, just schedule the meeting on Easter Sunday.— February 24, 2012 12:26 p.m.
Local Jeweler Stumps For $100 a Plate DeMaio Dinner Party
I seriously doubt unions are going to spend MILLIONS to keep DeMaio from winning. That's national office level spending. Thousands maybe. As for direction, I'd direct people to the LA jewelry district, 7th and Hill St, in downtown LA, for jewelry. I'll bet you'd pay half there of what you would at Hamel's for the same jewelry. Does Carl have a credit line with Hamel's, like Newt's at Tiffanys?— February 24, 2012 12:18 p.m.
Fletcher Pledges to Make Transit, Cyclist Access a Priority
This helps. I live in Tierrasanta, one of the worst served public transit areas. We are nowhere's near the trolley, and we have one bus line, which only runs on weekdays. And that bus line doesn't go anywhere useful (like the beach or downtown). We do have a bike lane through here (going to Santee on 52), which is nice for bikers. Fletcher does sometimes vote his mind in Sacramento, not following the GOP party line. But I don't think he'll make it beyond the primary. I need to see more comments like this to get me to vote for him specifically in the primary. As it is, I'm not planning to vote 'for' any candidate in June. I only know which ones I plan on voting against.— February 21, 2012 11:06 p.m.
The Many Faces of Bob Filner
So, uh, Matt. You've become the , um, TMZ crew of the San Diego political scene? What exactly are you saying here? Or, what point are you trying to make?— January 23, 2012 9:03 p.m.
More and More Californians Leaving the State
Texas is a good state to live in. So is California. Those people that left weren't Californians, and they won't be Texans. They'd move to Michigan if they thought they'd get a better job there. Who cares? I mean, unless Texas (with a larger land mass) suddenly becomes more populous than California, then we still win. I just wish the rivalry was more, well, civilized, or humorous. Like, they produced the (arguably) worst President in history (Bush the Younger). Yet we provided the only one that left office in disgrace (Nixon). Who wins? And, if you're living in San Diego, what do you have to complain about? You must be bored to care about this news.— November 29, 2011 7:42 p.m.
Occupy San Diego Pushes Vendors to Return
What does Linda Jenson's comment have to do with Occupy San Diego?— November 6, 2011 5:38 a.m.
Occupy San Diego Fractures, Relocates, Searches For Common Voice
That's my dog. Actually, that's my dog and my daughter. On my birthday, no less.— October 16, 2011 5:42 p.m.
Navy Makes Losing Bet on Solar
There's a sign at the Valley View Casino that says the hotel there was built with stimulous money.— October 13, 2011 2 a.m.
