Point Loma Sprouts fires longtime employee for alleged theft
We have half of a story here. Kinda tough to proceed without more info.— May 10, 2013 4:31 p.m.
No 2013 fireworks over Lake Murray?
Now, why did I **KNOW** Marco Gonzalez was going to be involved? Hey, Marco... how much will you wind up billing the taxpayers for your oh-so-valuable services that nobody wants and the only reason you can "provide" them is to force them down our throat?— May 7, 2013 10:19 a.m.
Doug Manchester’s Grand Del Mar resort scoffs at permits
I love all the moaning and handwringing over "disturbing environmentally sensitive areas"... but all of those moans go away if he pays enough money. Either up-front for a permit, or after the fact in fines. If the land is so "environmentally sensitive", then someone who gives a poop should buy it from him and keep it the way they want.— May 7, 2013 10:18 a.m.
Roman Abramovich yacht on San Diego’s Embarcadero
You've clearly never been saddled with billions of dollars and no idea what to do with it all :-) You want a boat, you want a small boat, but it would be nice to have one more room and bigger engines and a dining room and room for a few more friends, oh and hey a helipad would come in handy, oh and that character over there just built a huge yacht so why not out-do him... it adds up! Just like when you're buying a new car, and this option is only $595 more, and that option only adds $3.48 to the monthly payment, and the leather seats would be nice, oh and I want GPS...— May 7, 2013 10:14 a.m.
Roman Abramovich yacht on San Diego’s Embarcadero
This is the "Luna". The "Eclipse" was $1.5 billion. Neither are "worth" nowhere near what they cost, though, because anyone who can drop that kind of coin on a boat could just custom-design their own.— May 7, 2013 10:10 a.m.
Tijuana nightclub shooting occurs in broad daylight
Clearly, Mexico needs gun control! They must have allowed the NRA to take over their government!— May 7, 2013 10:06 a.m.
Socialism, a How-to
Bravo! Well said!— April 30, 2013 9:46 a.m.
Outrage at Costco food court: Pepsi replaces Coke
Good. Coke tastes like recycled battery acid. Pepsi actually tastes like a soda instead of "medication" prescribed by a 19th Century practitioner who'll also give you a bottle of laudanum to take home with you.— April 30, 2013 9:45 a.m.
Parked her Challenger at Oceanside transit center
I guess you missed the news where teary-eyed California voters decided that 3 strikes shouldn't apply to "non-violent" criminals any more. Three strikes was never strict enough. Most crimes are committed by the same small group of people. If we actually took everyone with three violent or property crimes and locked them up FOREVER, crime rates would plummet. "Oh, but the prisons are too full, we can't do that!" Well, we could start by releasing those convicted of mala prohibita laws... California has no shortage of laws making people felons who never took any action which harmed another and who never displayed any intention of harming others. Get rid of them, and we'll have room for the real criminals.— April 30, 2013 9:38 a.m.
U-T reports circulation gains, some dips, but...
Using newspaper to wipe down car windows is an old detailers' trick. It's supposed to leave no streaks.— April 30, 2013 9:31 a.m.
